China’s First Civil UAV Driving School Located in Wuhan

CANNEWS - On August 10, Hubei Ewatt Technology Co., Ltd. has got the first license of training institution for civil unmanned aircraft system (“UAV” for short) since the founding of China. From now on, normal citizen can also learn to drive the UAV. Previously, four “UAV controllers” of the company have been granted the first UAV instructor certificates issued by China Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).

 

In the middle of June, 2014, AOPA held China’s first training classes for the instructors of civil unmanned aircraft system. Sixty three people got the training qualification among almost 150 applicants in China, and after a series of theoretical studies, examinations, oral tests and practical operation, only 48 people got their qualification of UAV instructor.

 

There are two ranks of the UAV training certification, pilot and pilot command, which are endorsed on the certificate. There should be not less than 44 hours for a pilot to take the fly training which includes a four-hour preflight check, normal flight program operation for not less than 20 hours, emergency flight program operation for not less than 20 hours, such as engine failure, chain loss, emergency recycle and forced landing ect. There should be not less than 56 hours for pilot command’s training. The instructor of pilot command should have the experience as a pilot command for more than 100 hours, more than two years’working experience and more than 20 hours’ training time.
